R. Chad Swanson, DO Overview

I’m a full-time emergency physician in Orem, Utah. Over the years, I’ve come to the conclusion that historical, paradigm-shifting change in health and medicine is needed. Here are a few of my activities and accomplishments outside of clinical medicine: -Leadership and quality positions in my hospital in Utah. -Global health experience in Peru and Mozambique. -Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins. -Taught global health and created a “systems thinking in health” class at Brigham Young University. -Created short, popular videos that explain complexity science and engaged in social media. -Published in leading journals such as the Lancet on systems thinking and complexity science in health. -My work has been supported by the Rockefeller Foundation, the Doris Duke Foundation, and others, and I’ve consulted for the WHO. -I came to the conclusion that a story needs to be told, very well told.
