Our journey began in Qonce (formerly King Williams Town) with Mr. Don Parker, a dedicated optician who established the original practice. In 1976, Dr. Chris Faul joined and expanded our reach to Stutterheim and Alice.
With Mr. Parker's retirement in 1985, Mr. Dean Radue took the helm, enhancing our services and opening new branches. By 1990, Mr. Radue became the sole owner, driving innovation with updated equipment and further expansions, including branches in Port Alfred, Peddie, and Cambridge, East London.
In 2012, we acquired V and T Optometrists, originally founded by Mr. David Veen in the 1970s and expanded by Mr. Mike Thomlinson. This acquisition extended our footprint from Vincent to Butterworth and into the former Transkei.
Our growth continued with the addition of Mr. Marnus Dames in 2010, who later became a partner. In 2021, we opened Radue and Dames Optometrists in Komani (formerly Queenstown), solidifying our presence inland.
