The Ramblin' Rocket Club is the largest student-led organizations in Georgia Tech's School of Aerospace Engineering, with over 160 dues-paying members working on a broad range of rocketry related projects. Our members graduate with extensive technical, communication, and project management skills.
The RRC's primary goal is to provide Georgia Tech students and other interested individuals in the Atlanta community with the knowledge, resources and equipment necessary to get involved in rocketry. As the National Association of Rocketry's chapter #701 (GTRC), the RRC has certified over a hundred students in High Power Rocketry. We continuously seek to build on our past experiences, and expand the engineering complexity of our projects to provide our members with the opportunity to develop their design, analysis, and hands-on skills. We aim to put the high value engineering education provided by Georgia Tech Aerospace into practical projects, making our members the best engineers they can be.
The RRC was the inception point of the Yellow Jacket Space Program - Georgia Tech's student-led initiative to be the first collegiate team to send a rocket beyond the Karman line - and is working towards its first competitive entry into the Spaceport America Cup this coming year. It is also the parent organization of Georgia Tech's NASA University Student Launch Initiative (USLI) team and runs a High Altitude Balloon team that is developing the tools necessary to test cube-satellite avionics at altitudes of up to 100,000ft.
