Ramot Naftaly Winery was founded by Yitzhak Cohen, who is the Israeli pioneer of quality winemaking in the Galilee wine region. He is a famous agriculturist and experienced wine grower, turned winemaker, whose current objective is to advance the Kedesh Valley, on the northern border of Israel, as a premium wine growing area. The winery is equipped with what is considered to be the best winemaking machinery in the world, and provides wine manufacturing and wine processing services to additional wineries in the surrounding area. The winery and vineyards are located on high elevation, Naftaly mountain ridge in the Upper Galilee. We produce wines only from our own vineyards.
The winery is small and focused on producing hand crafted kosher wines which reflect the terroir of the Ramot Naftaly vineyards and the Kedesh Valley. Kedesh Valley is a beautiful gorge immersed between tall mountains. In this unique area quality wine grapes have been grown since ancient times. The valley was discovered to possess climate conditions ideally suited to growing high-quality red wine grapes. The combination of Terra Rosa soil, scarce precipitation, low temperatures during the night and high temperatures during the day, create optimal conditions for nurturing grape-bearing vines.
