Rapson Building and Maintenance Services is headed up by Darren Rapson. As the grandson of the late Charles Angelus, one of Barbados' leading entrepreneurs, he was brought up around woodworking, cabinetry and joinery.
Following in his grandfather's footsteps, Darren then started his own woodworking business in 1993 under the name Tropical Furnishings Inc. which built bespoke furniture, kitchens and closets. He worked on the 352-room Hilton Hotel providing stand-alone furniture for their new hotel rooms and all the outfitting at the Concorde Experience including the gift shop.
Ten years ago, Darren founded Rapson Building and Maintenance Services Inc (RMS) in response to the need for renovation work in both the residential and commercial sector on Barbados. Rapson’s on-site woodworking factory today produces high quality kitchens, closets and bespoke projects under our Rapson Design brand.
More recently, RMS has entered the house management/property management sector focusing on delivering a cost effective and timely service for our clients looking after every aspect of planned and reactive maintenance.
Our clients past and present include: Lime Grove Lifestyle Centre (original shopfronts), Hilton Hotel, Concorde Experience, Sea Breeze Hotel, Port St Charles, Royal Westmoreland, Leamington House, Sugar Hill Resort, Cove Spring House, Charlton Chambers (Richard and Patterson Cheltenham's personal offices) and Millennium Heights.
