Raynar, a technology leader based in South Korea, has developed Magnetic Resonance Testing (MRT) — a next-generation non-destructive testing (NDT) technology that detects internal material degradation and hidden defects that conventional NDT methods often fail to identify. Unlike traditional techniques such as ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), or eddy current testing (ECT), MRT is based on quantum magnetic resonance principles. By inducing multi-frequency electromagnetic fields into a metal part and analyzing the resulting real (X) and imaginary (Y) impedance responses, MRT reveals changes in the material’s internal condition — from micro-cracks and residual stress to carburization and hydrogen embrittlement. Instead of searching for geometric discontinuities, MRT analyzes material property changes, making it a fundamentally different and more sensitive approach to defect detection.
