RE:define Aotearoa is a youth-led anti-racism and racial education initiative reshaping how racism is defined, discussed, and addressed in Aotearoa.
We are grounded in a simple truth: youth mental health and safety cannot be fully addressed without tackling racism — especially when it’s mislabelled, misunderstood, or ignored.
We challenge outdated, surface-level definitions of racism and advocate for clearer, more actionable understandings rooted in lived experience, education, and policy change.
Through advocacy, community conversations, and accessible tools, we aim to dismantle the silence around racism — and redefine it on our own terms.
Our mission is to educate, empower, and equip rangatahi and their communities to:
