Reenergia is the first private for-profit social impact advisory and delivery firm. Reenergia is in the business of redefining “development,” and, provides services and develops and implements solutions and products to transform local, city-wide, regional, and national economies [from the village to the nation]; with a focus on defining and solving problems and implementing solutions—firmly believing that knowledge alone is not enough! Reenergia’s President, Amer Zafar Durrani, is an acknowledged development expert, and has developed a strong regional profile (East Africa, Europe and Central Asia and South Asia Region) through his work on the relevant regional forums for the World Bank and has led the development of key regional initiatives. His areas of expertise include infrastructure and disaster risk management, roads; railways; ports; highways; aviation; urban transport; regional cooperation; partnerships and outreach; energy; standards; metrology; testing and quality; community driven development; community infrastructure; social protection—including disarmament, demobilization, reintegration and public works programs; sub-national finance; e-government; technology integration; privatization and enterprise reform; public institutions; public expenditure reviews; trade facilitation, transport and trade logistics. His experience spans over 30 years in 24 countries, of which 17 years were solely dedicated to World Bank. He has served as an advisor to United Office for Project Services (UNOPS) for 5 years and was the Industry Co-Chair on the Energy Corporate Advisory Council in National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) under the umbrella of the Global Think Tank Network (GTTN).
