We are a community of gardeners and growers championing seed activism and building resilience into our local food systems through saving, swapping and sharing seed.
We welcome everyone to be involved – whether you are a balcony gardener, home grower, community garden, ecological producer or have no garden at all.
Our mission is to empower and equip people to save seed and to create a self-sustaining local network of seed. We'll do this by holding events and workshops for growers to learn the skills they need; creating living seed libraries that act as seed-growing sites, educational hubs and seed banks; and activating a community of seed activists.
Why are we doing this? Because the biodiversity in our food crops is dwindling and heritage varieties are fast disappearing, threatening future food security. Because intergenerational knowledge and skills on how to save seed are dying out. Because locally adapted varieties of food crops are becoming increasingly crucial with our rapidly changing climate. Because community action on biodiversity loss and climate change at a local level, through working with nature, offers people hope for the future.
