ReceptorBio Overview

ReceptorBio is an early-stage biopharmaceutical company that is developing orally active pharmaceuticals for the treatment of insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D), and the ‘Metabolic Syndrome’, all of which are linked to a markedly increased risk of cardiovascular disease and other disorders. The Company’s initial focus will be on the clinical development of its lead compound, RB101, a late stage pre-clinical compound that activates the tyrosine kinase domain of the insulin receptor (IR), a recognized drug target for T2D. Activation of the IR is required to mediate insulin’s physiological effects on the control of blood glucose and other processes. Currently, there are no FDA-approved drugs with this mechanism of action. ReceptorBio believes its novel agent is first in class, with a mechanism of action that is compatible for use both as a single agent and in combination with existing drugs for T2D.
