Retskraft – Copenhagen Journal of Legal Studies Overview

On 17 November 2016 a small group of students from the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen established Retskraft – Copenhagen Journal of Legal Studies. As the first of its kind in a Danish context, the journal offers promising law students at the Faculty of Law the opportunity to publish in a law journal at the highest possible academic level. To ensure a high quality of published scholarship, each article undergoes double-blinded peer review from two anonymous reviewers. The peer reviews aim for the highest possible standards. At the same time, the peer-reviews will be highly constructive in order to encourage the best result and help authors present their research in the best possible way. This practice is in line with the broader ambition of the journal: to create a culture of academic writing among law students and to encourage students of other disciplines to study the law. To support the work of the journal, an Advisory Board of researchers from the Faculty of Law will serve as ambassadors of the journal and evaluate the quality of its articles and the editorial processes. Retskraft is published twice annually and invites the submission of unsolicited articles from professors, practitioners and students within all legal fields, including interdisciplinary contributions. Manuscripts must be submitted in electronic form as an attached editable Word file to the editor’s email address retskraft@gmail.com. Submissions should not exceed 15 normal pages (approximately 6.700 words, 42.000 characters without spaces, excluding footnotes). All manuscripts must be submitted in the Scandinavian languages (Danish, Norwegian, Swedish) or in English. In addition to the manuscript, the submission must include a short abstract (maximum 250 words). Footnotes must conform to The Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities, available for downloading from www.law.ox.ac.uk/publications/oscola.php.
