The Research Experience for Undergraduates in Wind Energy Systems program is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and was set up in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) to provide meaningful, hands-on, paid 10-week summer research experiences to undergraduate engineering students from across the United States. Student participants work in teams on specific wind energy-related research projects that span modeling & measurements, diagnostic & control systems, and design & manufacturing. The goal of this program is to engage participants in rewarding research experiences that excite and motivate them to pursue careers in scientific and engineering research.
