RGU Orkney works in partnership with local stakeholders to address a range of local social, economic and environmental challenges. Orkney-based activities include: research and knowledge exchange that harnesses RGU expertise to address local challenges and opportunities in Orkney; supporting the development of skills, educational and entrepreneurship opportunities in Orkney that offer an excellent student experience and support social and economic regeneration; and creating an evidence base to influence and impact policy and practice in other island and remote rural regions, through innovative research and teaching programmes. RGU Orkney also leads on the University's activities across the north through membership of the University of the Arctic and ScAN, the Scottish Arctic Network.
