The Rhode Island Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) is an independent state agency established by the Rhode Island Cannabis Act of 2022 to oversee the regulation, licensing, enforcement, and control of both adult-use and medical cannabis in the state. Governor Dan McKee signed this landmark legislation into law on May 22, 2022, marking a pivotal step in Rhode Island’s approach to cannabis policy.
As the regulatory authority, the CCC is committed to ensuring a safe, equitable, and well-regulated cannabis market. The Commission exercises all necessary powers for the implementation, administration, and enforcement of cannabis regulations while promoting public health, consumer protection, and industry integrity.
