About Rising Lotus Yoga- OUR STORY
Claire Hartley and Daniel Stewart first opened Rising Lotus Yoga on Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks in April of 2006 with the intention of building an urban temple for Yogis to gather and build community around a sacred practice. As teachers, Claire and Daniel highlight the healing philosophy and practice of yoga and have gathered other dedicated and like-minded teachers to serve this vision. In 2014, Rising Lotus moved to its current location on Magnolia Blvd in Sherman Oaks, a beautiful and spacious 3800 square foot oasis with lots of light and (thankfully) parking!
The essence of Rising Lotus is that joy is an inside job, through our dynamic and fun asana yoga classes we connect to wisdom from many different sources and remember who we truly are.
As Rising Lotus expanded so did our offerings, which include a teacher training program that began in 2008. Since then, we are proud to have trained countless successful teachers of Yoga who have gone into the world, near and far, to develop their own style of this ancient practice.
