There is a worldwide requirement for the accurate performance monitoring of pump and blower efficiency and flow rate, to keep pumps and blowers in optimum condition, reduce energy and maintenance costs, and improve plant reliability and productivity.
Both portable units (P22), for regular checks, and fixed installations (MicroPM), for continuous monitoring, are available. Continuous monitoring gives the most benefits, since all operational conditions are covered.
Pump efficiencies can be measured accurately, and preferred pump combinations can be checked for operation at or near the Best Efficiency Point (BEP), and within the pump manufacturer’s Preferred Operating Region (POR). Wear, cavitation and recirculation issues can be investigated. The use of the MicroPM for accurate and low cost flow metering, with the capability for regular on-site calibration checks, is also significant.
