Self-employed since her 20’s, she has made a name for herself in the California Mart under the alias Romy M Showroom –Where Trends Begins. As the original representative and designer for Big Buddha handbags; Romy single handily drove revenue to the point where Big Buddha was purchased for 11 million by the Steve Madden Corporation. Steve Madden brought Romy on as Vice President of Merchandising and Sales with a 2 year contact. At the end of the contract Romy left Steve Madden to reopen the showroom and after only 11 months, the Steven Madden Corporation realized they needed her expertise and asked her back for another 2 year contract. After two amazing years, she left Steve Madden to reestablish the Romy M Showroom for the third time; which specializes in handbags, hats, hair accessories, and fine and fashion jewelry. Since her reestablishment, Romy has been met with success and has acquired many popular and trendy brands. She has been quoted stating “I always make it happen for myself” and most definitely illustrates her triumphs in great strides.
