The Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH, RGGU) was created in 1991 as the result of the merger of the Shanyavsky Moscow City People's University (est. 1908) and the Moscow State University for History and Archives (est. 1930). With more than 200 BA / MA programs and 28 PhD programs, RSUH serves more than 16 300 students and employs more than 1000 academic. RSUH currently comprises 11 institutes: - Institute of Economics, Management and Law - Historical and Archival Institute - L.S. Vygotsky Institute of Psychology - Institute of Mass Media and Advertising - Institute of Linguistics - Institute of Information Sciences and Security Technologies - Institute of History and Philology - Institute for Oriental and Classical Studies - International Institute of the New Educational Technologies - Institute of Additional Education - Institute of Regional Post-Soviet Research RSUH has a strong international profile and cooperates with more than 230 universities worldwide. It is a member of IAU (International Association of Universities), EUA (European University Association), GUNI (Global University Network for Innovation), EUNIS (European University Information Systems organization).
