Youth Entrepreneurship for Rural Development (RDYE) is a 3.5-year project implemented by Mercy Corps Georgia with funding from the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC). Supporters of the project are Liberty Bank and the International Foundation for Sports, Tourism and Youth. The project aims to improve entrepreneurial skills and knowledge of at least 1500 young people (18 to 35 years old), support agricultural and non-agricultural businesses, facilitate access to finance and establishment of market connections across 4 rural regions of Georgia (Kvemo Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Shida Kartli, Mtskheta) in 18 target municipalities. Project activities focus on social and economic participation of young people, improving their well-being and promoting entrepreneurial potential. The acquired knowledge and skills actively help them in employment/self-employment. The project will support more than 1,500 young people (50% women), representatives of ethnic and religious minorities, inhabitants of highland villages, eco-migrants, internally displaced persons and persons with disabilities, to develop entrepreneurial skills and opportunities to create more than 50 sustainable, new or/and expand existing youth-run agricultural and non-agricultural enterprises/businesses.
