Sóley was born out of a realization, especially in Africa, of the lack of easy access to electricity or a convenient way to charge devices. Indeed, more than 2/3 of the world's population now owns a cell phone, including about 60% a smartphone, with a growing use of social networks (+10% of active users). In Africa, the continent would have 660 millions people equiped with a "smartphone" in 2020. All these statistics show the relevance of our project and a great opportunity to develop it. Thus, The ONU reports estimate that 700 million Africans still do not have regular access to electricity, mostly in remote areas.
In the context of achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 7, 10 and 13, Sóley is a new social brand, which tend to promote a sustainable innovation by bringing electricity to marginalized communities. In partnership with the association Fakotôry [Factory] which is composed of 35 volunteers active in several fields, we integrate solar lamps on the school bags of children from public elementary school.
