STL is a specialist consultancy providing electronic product design services, usually to manufacturers of test & measurement equipment for electric power utility end-customers. We have extensive experience in all stages of electronic product development through to manufacturing, with particular expertise in high voltage power electronics.
From our modern design/prototyping/testing lab, we can deliver fully packaged product designs, but we can also work fully-embedded within a customer's existing R&D team on specific projects.
STL has also independently developed, and provides under license, unique power electronic technology for the generation of precision high-current/high-voltage waveforms from mains & battery power. Our recently developed and patent-pending 'Digital Variac' module is a smart/connected 3kVA solid-state Variable Transformer (direct high-frequency AC-AC converter) for replacing traditional Variacs in a many applications (parallelable to 10's kVA, serial control, directly drives step-up/down transformers, integrated PQ analyser etc.) All these systems utilise planar magnetics/SiC/DSP+FPGA control and are used in high power electrical testers and wider industrial applications.
