Students Taking a New Direction (S.T.A.N.D.) for Prison Justice (SFPJ) is an organization for students and members of the UBC community interested in supporting incarcerated persons through public education, advocacy, direct representation, and critical legal research - all from an abolitionist perspective.
We aim to facilitate discussions regarding police abolition, the prison industrial complex, transformative justice and how to eradicate punishment and carceral logics from our social, academic, intimate, professional, and community spaces.
