In 1999, Bank Melli Iran, one of the largest Islamic bank in the world, decided to develop its electronic services through the subsidiary firm of Sadad Informatics Corps. Later on in 2014, along with the internet development and stabilization of e-payment in Iran, Sadad Electronic Payment Co. was spun off in order to merely focus on electronic payment services.
