Safety Net is the leading specialist rape, exploitation, sexual and domestic abuse recovery charity in Cumbria.
We offer short term safety intervention and stabilisation work, and mid to long term specialist therapy and support work, to women, men and children who have experienced abuse. Our approach is trauma-informed and holistic, working in partnership with with other professionals and community groups, with the aim of improving wellbeing and quality of life
We are committed to supporting the recovery of anyone who has experienced abuse, no matter their gender or circumstances. Services are free and available for individuals or families.
Safety Net is an organisational member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the charity works within the BACP ethical framework. The charity is also an accredited member of The Survivors Trust, a national sexual abuse umbrella organisation.
