Sara Gordon is the Owner & Founder of SAGE Avenue, LLC, providing business and marketing consulting services to business executives across an array of industries. Specializing in consumer packaged goods marketing, Sara has over two decades of experience creating enterprise value, leading consumer-centric innovation and new product development, and building world-class leading brands to drive revenue and grow profits.
During her 20-year career at The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, she developed business and marketing strategies to drive year-round demand in the highly competitive lawn & garden sector. In addition to her marketing leadership experience stewarding the iconic Miracle-Gro and Scotts brands, Sara has the unique distinction of serving as the Business Operator of the Gardens business unit, which contributed over $2 Billion in annual sales. Leading a cross-functional team in a highly matrixed organization, Sara owned accountability of the Gardens P&L, oversaw all media and marketing efforts, expanded new products, led product pricing, brand strategy, and identified new business opportunities (including M&A).
Sara has a passion for corporate responsibility and sustainability, serving as the lead for ESG (environmental, social and governance) initiatives across Scotts Miracle-Gro. In addition to earning her Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree from The University of Cincinnati, Sara has a certification from Harvard Business School for the ‘Creating Shared Value: Competitive Advantage through Social Impact’ executive education program.
Sara is an Executive Board Member with the Better Business Bureau of Central Ohio, previously serving as Board Chair.
