Sarah Daly is an Australian artist and AI researcher. She is a painter who uses technology as a tool to inform her creative process. She is currently undertaking a PhD at the Queensland University of Technology investigating creative AI. She studied visual arts and art history at the Queensland College of Art and the University of Queensland and completed masters level work at the Chelsea School of Arts in London.
After early years in Papua New Guinea surrounded by local artists, then living across Asia, Europe and Australia, her work is guided by the maps and patterns within landscapes. Her paintings show a deep connection with our environment and an empathy towards how we live. Sarah collaborates with an AI generative adversarial network to create her work.
Sarah Daly recently produced 106 portraits for the Women in AI Awards 2022 and was the AI Artist in Residence at the ISPIM Innovation Conference in Copenhagen in June 2022. She works from studios in Brisbane and Barcelona.
