Savov & Partners Law firm has started the project "Cooperation for Innovation and Exchange of good practices in the fight against money laundering in Europe", funded by Erasmus+, with the aim to meet the needs in the financial area following the adoption of Directive 2015/849 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2015 to prevent the use of the financial system for the purpose of money laundering and terrorist financing. The project also focuses in particular on the adoption of the Law on Measures against Money Laundering which formally introduces into Bulgaria the requirements of the Directive.
The target group of the project are the specialists working in the field of anti-money laundering legislation aiming to develop their knowledge and skills in their practice, as well as all natural and legal persons, including public organizations, that are legally required to be compliant with the Law on Measures against Money Laundering.
The project's results aim to build a partnership network between law specialists and create an international platform to disseminate the identified innovations and good practices in the fight against money laundering in Europe that will allow for sustainable interaction, experience and knowledge at an international level. In the long run, the implementation of the project will make a sustained contribution to the acquisition of adequate knowledge of all stakeholders in the field of activities currently in place.
