In 1997, after 15 years in banking and small business lending, Doug Hood started his own consulting business to assist the small business community in their search for capital and to provide quality loan referrals as well as lending service provider options to banks who wish to outsource part or all of their SBA program on a short term or long term basis.
Doug has worked for thirty years for some of the highest volume SBA lenders in the U.S. He has served the metropolitan Atlanta small business community through lending and financial consulting as well as teaching capital strategy at local institutions such as Emory University, Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia. His notoriety as a champion for small business has gained him a seat on the Georgia SBA Advisory Council as well as an appointment to the SBA’s National Advisory Council where he served for six years as the Georgia Representative. Doug’s reputation and client list continues to grow, providing SBA outsourcing services to dozens of banks in the Southeastern United States generating over $50,000,000 of SBA 7a loans on an annual basis.
Recently, Doug has expanded his auditing services. These include auditing existing SBA portfolios for SOP compliance, and performing compliance reviews for for banks seeking to acquire other banks. He offers these services for existing customers, and has recently formed a strategic partnership with Ardmore Banking Advisors and Mauldin & Jenkins CPA to increase services to new customers.
