Amy R. Walters, Ph.D. owns and is managing member of Scaffold Strategic LLC, home to Scaffold Communication and Penn WordCraft. Professor Emeritus and former Communication Department Chairperson at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania, she is thoroughly knowledgeable and experienced having spent her career teaching speech, rhetoric, and communication not only to thousands of undergraduate students, but also to fellow academics.
In 2007 Dr. Walters made it her personal mission was “to ensure that there will never be another boring academic conference paper.” Out of this mission she formed Scaffold Communication, a consulting firm specializing in academic and technical communication. She trains individuals and organizations to transform ordinary research and technical information into compelling, engaging presentations.
Penn WordCraft mirrors this mission, providing both training and editing for clarity and persuasiveness in the domain of written communication. In addition, Dr. Walters is certified through CELTA and offers personalized ESL training.
