The Schlegel Centre for Entrepreneurship & Social Innovation located within the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University has a mandate to inspire students from all disciplines to take entrepreneurial action with purpose. This vision is being realized through four main pillars, Learn (entrepreneurship and social innovation curriculum), Try (extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, events, workshops, competitions), Do (LaunchPad Incubator), and doing all this through Engaging with our alumni, local post-secondary institutions, and community partners. Laurier has been recognized as an AshokaU Changemaker Campus for its leadership in social innovation education, the second campus in Canada to earn this designation. In 2017, the Lazaridis School of Busines & Economics was also recognized by AACSB International for its commitment to creating and incubating cutting-edge business innovations and fostering entrepreneurship in the next generation of business leaders.
