Scio Diamond Technology Corp.

Scio Diamond Technology Corp. was founded in 2011 from the ashes of Apollo Diamond, the early innovator of Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) diamond production technology. Leveraging Apollo’s intellectual property portfolio, Scio became one of the first lab-grown diamond companies to successfully tap the US public equity markets, launching operations in Greenville, South Carolina. Initially focusing on industrial diamond applications, Scio rapidly expanded its production capacity and soon transitioned into the larger gemstone market to fuel growth. Throughout its development, Scio effectively utilized the public markets to raise capital, establishing multiple joint ventures to expand international production, create and market advanced Type IIa gemstones, and build a major diamond manufacturing facility in Greenville. Despite significant operational achievements, the company faced substantial corporate governance challenges. In 2019, Scio strategically sold its intellectual property and manufacturing assets to Adamas One Corp. addressing financial and scaling needs to better position the technology for the rapidly emerging lab-grown diamond market.
