Scooter P Entertainment

Scooter P Entertainment company information, Employees & Contact Information

Scooter P Entertainment is a Black Woman Owned and BIPOC distribution and content development company. Scooter P Entertainment was created to provide wider and more humane view of people of color in television and film. We keep the filmmaker in the ownership position as they seek distribution for their content. We strive to demonstrate through content all sides of the human experience that is not usually shown for people of color. Our inspiration comes from the lack of diversity on camera and behind the camera. In order to fill in that gap we will connect people of color to the right opportunities to showcase their talents. Scooter P Entertainment was founded by Francis Perdue. In the essence of honoring her ancestors that came before her she has named the company after nicknames her parents gave her as a child. Scooter comes from her father Dr. Franklin R. Perdue, who gave her the nickname due to her taking the neighbor's son's scooter without permission and going around their Compton, California neighborhood. P stands for, Pasapoo in which her late mother, Carolyn Jean Walton Perdue used to call her with her country accent. Her mother was called a papoose by her Cherokee grandmother raised in Lafayette, Alabama so she placed her twist on it and called her daughter Francis, Pasapoo. Honoring and paying homage to those who came before us is a mission of Scooter P. Giving experiences to underserved filmmakers, content creators, directors and producers is the aim for the company.
