Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation, Taiwan Redefining the way businesses utilize information through open innovation The Garwood Center offers customized forums within an Open Innovation network that engages across industries to expand markets. Our process builds on cutting-edge research to facilitate the formation of strategic alliances, partnerships & ecosystems, and create sustainable business models. A meeting of open innovative minds in Taiwan Professor Solomon Darwin, who is currently the Director of the Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation at the Berkeley Haas School of Business, and his grand visit to Taiwan has been much welcome and well received. Firstly, in April and September of this year, we extended invitations to TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) to participate in the Berkeley Innovation Forum. In September, the Tzu Chi Foundation officially joined and invited our Center Director to participate as a keynote speaker on the first day of the Tzu Chi Forum in November. The theme of this forum is "Fostering a New Era of Equality – Open Innovations for Emerging Markets," with a case study on the Smart Villages Movement. Additionally, our Center Director has accepted invitations to deliver two keynotes at the 2023 Global Corporate Sustainability Forum (GCSF by TAISE & A-SDGs): "Leveraging Open Innovation for Sustainability of the Planet" and "How to think like the CEO of the Planet: Restoring the declining balance sheet of the Earth." What's more, on November 12th, a significant strategic cooperation agreement will be signed between our center and Tzu Chi's Global Good Governance Center. Starting in the second half of next year, we plan to co-organize the Berkeley Innovation Forum with the Tzu Chi Foundation, and we hope to extend an invitation to your esteemed organization to participate on that occasion.
