Sports for the Development of the Underprivileged (SDU) was originally founded in January 2005 to provide opportunities for changing lives through sports. Sports was used to bring warring factions in Liberia to negotiation table 2006 as warlords would lay down their arms to watch a game of soccer. The passion and pride elicited by sports have been used to bring people together and educate them on proper hygiene and AIDS prevention as happened in Gulu Uganda (2006).
So what do we do? We at SDU provide opportunities for growth through sports. From the talented student who needs help with college applications or even a scholarship. We provide coaching clinics and training to retiring players as they transition into retirement. We provide an efficient channel for individuals, groups and companies who would like to give back to underprivileged communities. Scouting tournaments that bring the best talent across seven countries to a central location.
Our vast network of volunteer and partner club teams provide a great, time-tested and efficient service to all wishing to contribute towards the growth of a better society.
