Seafood Innovations Limited (SIL) is a Research Partnership. We provide funding for research and technology projects that benefit the New Zealand Seafood Sector. We are supported by the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, who provide SIL funding of $2M p.a.
SIL’s objective is to invest in research that increases the value of existing harvests; or reduces harvesting and processing costs; or enhances consumer-driven product attributes.
We are looking for projects with: -
- Scientific stretch/novelty; and
- A strong team (within the research provider and supporting seafood companies); and
- A high prospect of commercial success if research objectives are achieved.
Please note that funding is available only for projects that include at least one New Zealand seafood company and at least one New Zealand research provider.
