Fondée en 1982, Search for Common Ground s'efforce de transformer la façon dont le monde traite les conflits, en abandonnant les approches conflictuelles au profit d'une résolution collaborative des problèmes. Nous travaillons avec des partenaires locaux pour trouver des moyens culturellement appropriés de renforcer la capacité des sociétés à traiter les conflits de manière constructive : comprendre les différences et agir sur les points communs.
Notre mission est de transformer la façon dont le monde traite les conflits : en abandonnant les approches accusatoires au profit de solutions coopératives.
Nous avons mis au point un large éventail de méthodes opérationnelles, que nous appelons collectivement notre "boîte à outils", qui comprend des techniques de résolution des conflits bien connues, telles que la médiation et la facilitation, et d'autres moins traditionnelles, comme les productions télévisées, les feuilletons radiophoniques et l'organisation communautaire. Nous avons constaté que l'utilisation simultanée de plusieurs outils augmente leur efficacité globale.
