We want to see a generation of women who are empowered and confident. It is our mission to end the gender-confidence gap. When compared with men, women generally underestimate their abilities. This makes them more likely to hold themselves back in their academics, careers, and social lives. We never want to see a woman or girl miss out on an opportunity because she does not believe she is capable. By investing in girls’ lives early, we can create a world where every woman knows her self-worth, values her uniqueness, and takes advantage of every opportunity that comes her way. The more confident women are in themselves, the more successful they will be in their education, careers, and life.
In 2009, Warren and Jackie Hance lost their three beautiful daughters Emma, Alyson, and Katie, in a tragic car accident. Following the tragedy, Warren and Jackie ensured their girls would have a lasting legacy by creating the Hance Family Foundation in their name. Emma, Alyson, and Katie lived their lives with enthusiastic confidence, and Warren and Jackie wanted to instill this confidence in other girls in their Floral Park community. They worked with educators to create a curriculum that enhanced self-esteem, increased positive body awareness, and helped to build healthy relationship skills. This curriculum became what is now our flagship program, Beautiful Me. The Hance Family Foundation quickly became a beloved symbol in the Floral Park community. With local support, the foundation was able to bring Beautiful Me to schools all over the New York area.
In 2018, the Hance Family Foundation introduced Self-Esteem Rising, a suite of three programs designed to activate genuine confidence and foster positive self-perception. The three programs included Beautiful Me, our signature program for girls and women ages five to one hundred, Raising a Beautiful Child, a program to help parents and guardians build confidence in their children, and Empower Me, a program for women on college
