In 1979, Evergreen Trading was founded by Dato Sri Lai Kock Poh and Datin Sri Yong Mee Yam as a humble trading company in Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia. Since the first supermarket, Servay opened in 1990 in Miri. Servay have been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of local community. Thanks to strong business integrity by Dato and Datin Sri Lai and an unwavering commitment to excellent customer service, the tiny company grew exponentially. An emphasis on customer attention, cost controls, and efficiencies in its distribution networks helped Servay Evergreen become one of the largest retailer in the East Malaysia for 20 years and more. In 1997, Servay opened the first hypermarket at Penampang, Sabah. Since then, Servay focused its growth of Hypermarket and Supermarket throughout Sabah and Sarawak. As it grew, Servay developed new retail formats, including Servay Express (2018), Servay Mart (2019) and own dedicated e-commerce platform, servayonline.com (2020). n 2012, Servay Evergreen diversified into hospitality. Opened first MYINN Hotel at Lahad Datu, Sabah with close to 100 guestrooms. Following the success of first MYINN Hotel, we increased MYINN footprint at Kuching (Sarawak), Tawau (Sabah) and Inanam (Sabah) respectively. In 2016, Servay Evergreen Group involved as property developer and mall operator. Our unique Build-Own-Operate (BOO) business model powers our ability as a Developer to create a unique win-win proposition through sustainable communities where future generations can continue to thrive. We currently have presence in Sabah and manage retail mall with a combined net lettable area (NLA), of existing projects and those in the pipeline, to an excess of 7.7 million sq. ft.
