Shai Foundation was established in 2010 by Jennifer Lapompe. ‘Shai’ is the Hebrew word meaning ‘gift’. The Foundation is built on the Holy Spirit inspired vision to create a solid financial base on which Kingdom outreach ministries can stand. The vision was given to Jennifer one afternoon whilst she was reflecting on the fact that it is often the same few people that give financially when there is a call to support outreach and mission work globally. It is our vision to empower and enable disadvantaged children and communities to rebuild their lives and move towards self-sufficiency. Our aim is to encourage Christians and non-believers to work side-by-side to make an impact and a difference in the lives of others. We urge anyone with a heart to give, to step out of their comfort zone and realise the gifts and talents that God has given them and use those gifts to demonstrate the love of God in their communities through their deeds and their action. Our message is one where we do not have to limit ourselves. Step out in faith and see what happen. For believers in particular, the message is let’s step out of ‘Church’ the building. We are the Church; let’s carry the church with us and make a difference in the lives of others! Our desire is to see individuals break out of the box and release the untapped potential that God has placed in them for serving their community, both locally and abroad. We want to identify individuals with a heart for outreach and missions, tap into their gift, helping them grow by nourishing and equipping them. Jesus gave us the Great Commission to share the gospel, not just with each other, but also for those who don’t know God. There is no better way to demonstrate the love of God than through our giving and our serving others.
