Shanthi Bhavan Palliative Hospital is a venture of the Franciscan Sisters of St. Clare Charitable Trust for the benefit of bedridden patients, the terminally ill, and the elderly. In foreign countries, what are available for bedridden patients are hospices. They provide only clinical support. However, this is the first licensed hospital in the world to operate for bedridden patients, the terminally ill, and the elderly. It is not only the first palliative care hospital in India, but all the services of this hospital are provided free of charge. (No bill - Hospital).
Our Free Services are Hospital admission, Food and accommodation for patients and bystanders, Doctor's care, Nursing care, Physiotherapy, Centralized oxygen, Fluid tapping, medical ventilator, Palliative medicine, Dialysis, Ultrasound scan, Echo cardiogram, ECG, and other free services are Dental services with dental X-ray, Blood pressure, oxygen level, pulse rate test, Palliative Home Care. Palliative home care, emergency home care, and death care are also included in the free services for bedridden patients who are able to stay at home.
Since 2014, we have been providing palliative home care to bedridden patients in homes. The hospital service for bedridden patients has been going on for the past 7 years. From April 1, 2023 to January 31, 2024, services worth about 3 CRORE were provided.
Since its inception in 2017, Palliative hospital has played a vital role in palliative care, admitting a noteworthy 2,000 plus inpatients, signifying its importance within the community. Additionally, many more individuals received compassionate palliative care, ensuring comfort and dignity in their final moments, highlighting the hospital's commitment to holistic patient care.
