Sheffield Urbanism is an initiative that brings together the urban research community at the University of Sheffield, one of the world’s most dynamic, productive and innovative centres for interdisciplinary urban research.
This community is internationally recognised for developing critical and engaged urban research expertise at the cutting edge of the field. Sheffield Urbanism has been catalysed by the Urban Institute and School of Geography and Planning to showcase research projects in and beyond the Faculty of Social sciences that are helping to drive forward contemporary academic debates, as well as delivering sustained research impacts at the level of policy, society and communities. Our work generates the interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral knowledge needed to understand and support sustainable urban change in the UK and across the globe. This work is rooted in partnerships and principles of mutual knowledge exchange, robust critique, equity and long-term commitment to urban places and communities.
We are using this platform to share our research-related news, outputs and events, with a view to further building and deepening networks of urban researchers and research users worldwide.
