The Sheriff’s Youth Foundation of Los Angeles County (a 501C3) is an extraordinary partnership between the Sheriff Department – and the Sheriff’s Youth Foundation.
Under the mentorship of Sheriff Deputies at 17 Youth Academies throughout Los Angeles County, the Youth Academies provide a safe haven; teaching, counseling, coaching and giving guidance in academics, life skills, sports and the arts – while, in many cases, serving as a neighbor ‘town center’ for its families.
The heart of the Youth Academies is academics; with a passionate belief that education is the most powerful tool youth can have to find success in their lives – and to dodge the siren of a life in the gang culture.
We believe that mentoring and inspiring youth to discover their gifts and enjoy academics – affords them the courage to reach higher, and to embrace a life of integrity and honor.
While there are many exceptional foundations in Los Angeles County addressing the needs of the youth in challenged neighborhoods, The Sheriff’s Youth Foundation uniquely has 17 Youth Academies in facilities in the hearts of communities with the greatest needs throughout the County.
