ShieldsUp started from the outcry of our medical and emergency community facing Covid-19 head on, as they put their own health at risk in their jobs to help protect others, often without all the personal protective equipment they so desperately needed.
Makers all over the country were working on solving different pieces of the puzzle, the catalyst that joined us together was Tim carr of Mindkits, many talented people and their personal networks quickly joined the call to action.
We are now a community driven initiative of almost 500 volunteers, 3D printing and manufacturing face shields for our medical and emergency heroes at the frontlines of this awful pandemic. We have doctors, sterilisation specialists, engineers, as well as 3D printing experts on our team and are in constant consultation with our medical community to ensure they are designed to provide maximum protection based on their needs.
