Welcome to Shorashim! Your home for learning Hebrew in a unique and engaging way. Our system offers distinctive learning kits that combine reading books with an innovative linguistic-cognitive method designed for children aged 6-16. Each book is accompanied by several lesson plans tailored to its level and length. The goal? To guide students on a rich and meaningful educational journey during which they will expand their vocabulary, deepen their understanding of Hebrew grammar, idioms, and culture. The materials were developed by Mrs. Sharon Levit, who holds a bachelor's degree in special education with a specialization in education for hearing-impaired children and the development of language connections from Tel Aviv University. With years of experience working one-on-one with children within the Israeli Ministry of Education framework, Sharon moved with her family to the United States. Out of her family's personal need, Sharon began developing learning kits ("lesson plans") for teaching the Hebrew language through books. The learning kits were developed with a strong emphasis on creating curiosity, interest, and an educational experience, while paying utmost attention to how the learning material is conveyed to students. All of this is to enable Israeli parents around the world to preserve the Hebrew language among their children. The learning kits were developed to also suit educators interested in developing activities for teaching the Hebrew language. We at Shorashim will be pleased if the kits we have developed will be used by Hebrew educators around the world, all to enable children living abroad to maintain the Hebrew language.
