About Seychelles Hydrospatial Observatory for Research and Exploration (SHORE) Institute
The Seychelles Hydrospatial Observatory for Research and Exploration (SHORE) is is a mission-driven and innovative nonprofit in Seychelles dedicated to unraveling the mysteries of the ocean. We aim to Seychelles as a global beacon for hydrospatial science and just blue transitions in Small-Island Developing States (SIDS). We employ advanced techniques in seabed mapping to gain insights into underwater landscapes, biodiversity, and potential resources turning the ocean floor from a “data desert” into an engine of equitable decision-making. We are committed to promoting awareness and understanding of the ocean's significance and inspiring actions to protect and conserve its fragile ecosystems. Our goal is to build the first SIDS-tailored digital twin of coastal ecosystems, enabling smarter marine governance, climate resilience, and inclusive blue-economy growth. SHORE partners with research institutes and innovators worldwide. With a passion for hydrospatial sciences, SHORE aims to make a lasting impact on understanding and preserving Seychelles' ocean for a thriving and sustainable future.
