SHPE at UT Permian Basin was founded on February 2023 by a group of Hispanic engineering students with the vision of creating an organization where fellow Hispanic engineers had the opportunity to embrace their roots while creating an empowering environment for us Hispanics in STEM.
SHPE's vision is a world where Hispanics are highly valued and influential as the leading innovators, scientists, mathematicians, and engineers. We aim to integrate each member into our five pillars: Professionalism, Academic Excellence, Community Outreach, Leadership, and Chapter Development while enforcing our values: Famila, Service, Education, and Resilience.
