Nearly seven years ago, we arrived in Canada full of hope and ambition. Like many newcomers, we immediately began searching for meaningful employment. However, we were repeatedly told by recruiters that without Canadian education or work experience, we weren’t eligible for white-collar roles.
We considered going back to school, but the financial burden of tuition alongside rent and living expenses made it a difficult choice. Ultimately, we decided to start from the ground up—taking on entry-level jobs and working our way forward.
