Si4Health GmbH, founded in 2003, was first prize winner of the Science4Life Venture Cup in 2004. Later on in 2005, a partnership with Bayer AG lead to CE Mark approval of the Silica Gel Fiber Technology in 2010, after substantial preclinical and clinical research in collaboration with Fraunhofer Institute for Silica Research (ISC). In 2008 the manufacturing of the SGF- wound care device was awarded by the Joseph-von-Fraunhofer Prize. Si4Health holds substantial IP covering Silica Gel Technology and is the only company holding CE mark approval for Silica Gel Fiber applications in Human Health Care, Pharmacology, Biotechnology and Research.
