Siang Pharmacy was established in 2004 by our Founder, Ph. Charmaine Tan Shwu Fen who opened our first branch in Nibong Tebal with only one employee.
After Charmaine Tan graduated from UK, she took an internship in Kuala Lumpur and obtained a pharmacist license. She has been working in the field of pharmacy since then. Although her work was very successful in Kuala Lumpur, she still hopes that she will be able to bring her professional knowledge back to her hometown Penang to benefit the community.
Charmaine believes that opening a store is the most direct way to communicate with people and share health knowledge. Therefore, the idea of opening a community pharmacy is initiated. After working in Kuala Lumpur for more than four years, together with her father’s encouragement and support, Charmaine decided to quit her job in Kuala Lumpur and return to her hometown in Nibong Tebal, Penang to start her entrepreneurial journey.
Charmaine's professional and sincere attitude towards work has gradually established some loyal customers. She has gained a high degree of recognition and support, and successfully laid a solid foundation. Later, she worked hard to expand her business and set up the second branch in the neighbouring, Simpang Ampat and third in Bukit Mertajam.
Siang Pharmacy has since continued to evolve amidst numerous challenges along the path. Today we emerge as one of the biggest players in the Northern region with a total of 7 pharmacy outlets, centrally coordinated by the Jawi Headquater.
