Persons living with Sickle Cell get a bad deal when it comes to their welfare needs due to several factors, including cultural stigmatisation, lack of awareness, and societal stereotypical views of what their needs might be. Membership in this group is open to everyone with an interest in Sickle Cell Disease and interested in promoting awareness of sickle cell disorders through whatever means available to them. Advocating for better care and welfare support for sufferers and their families is the number one aim of this group. All members must have the desire to actively participate in a constructive manner that encourages the sickle cell community to engage more effectively in promoting better care, both in the community and in hospitals. Any member who behaves in a manner deemed inappropriate and or disrespectful toward other members would be removed from the group without exception.
